TATER TOUR CANADIAN ROCKIES & MORE TRIP!

JULY 25TH – AUGUST 6TH, 2012

(PASSPORTS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS TRIP)

July 25th:   (Wed.)       FLY DAY ONLY TO GREAT FALLS, MONTANA! Hotel accommodations for 2 nights at the Best Western Heritage Inn  (406) 761-1900  Free shuttle service from airport and Continental Breakfast included. Get-acquainted meeting that evening.  

July 26th:  (Thurs.) In the morning, drive to Helena, Montana for year round event.  The route   is on paved streets and includes the original Governor's Mansion, Last Chance Gulch, a restored miner's village, the Montana State Capitol, Montana Historical Society     and      many other historical landmarks.  In the afternoon, drive back to Great Falls to possibly tour the Charles Russell Museum

July 27th:  (Fri.) Depart the USA and drive into Canada!! (Again, make sure you have passport!) First stop is Medicine Hat, Alberta for year round event.  Enjoy the trails and streets of this historic city. Downtown streets are lighted by gas lamps.  After the walk we will visit the largest teepee in the world! (just outside the city)  Hotel accommodations in Medicine Hat at the Best Western Plus Sun Country (403) 527-3700 Continental Breakfast included. 

July 28th:   (Sat.) Depart the area for Calgary, Alberta and year round event.  Stroll along the Bow River or choose the Urban trail which takes you through downtown Calgary. Enjoy beautiful scenic views of downtown Calgary and the Bow River from Crescent Heights.  Drive a short distance to our hotel, Best Western Airport Inn (877) 499-5015.  Hot Breakfast Buffet included. 

July 29th:  (Sun.) Start our journey into the Canadian Rockies!!! Drive to Banff, Alberta for volksmarch.  

Enjoy a scenic walk through Canada’s oldest National Park and town. In the afternoon, possibly drive to the

Vermilion Lakes area for some beautiful views!  Hotel accommodations for 2 nights at the Irwin’s Mountain Inn

located in Banff. (1-800-661-1721)  No Breakfast included   Restaurant on premise. 

July 30th:  (Mon.) Sightseeing Day Only!  Drive to Lake Louise and surrounding area! Return to Banff and our hotel. 

July 31st:   (Tues.) Depart Banff and drive the scenic Icefields Parkway on our way up to Jasper, Alberta.  Stop at a couple of scenic views!!!  Stop at Icefield Centre for lunch and glacier tour! Continue to Jasper and hotel accommodations at the Mount Robson Inn, (1-800-587-3327) No Breakfast included.  Restaurant on premise. 

Aug. 1st:    (Wed.) Participate in year round event in Jasper that walks through this historic city and around lakes. In the afternoon, drive to the Jasper Tramway for a ride to see and view six mountain ranges, glacial fed lakes, the Athabasca river (Alberta’s longest) and the scenic mountain town-site of Jasper. Return to hotel. 

Aug. 2nd:   (Thur.) Depart Jasper and the Canadian Rockies to Kamloops, British Columbia for year round event.  This walk passes this historic downtown, waterfront, waterfront parks and trails.  Hotel accommodations at the Comfort Inn & Suites, (250) 372-0987 in Kamloops.  Continental Breakfast included.  

Aug. 3rd:   (Fri.) Drive to Vancouver, British Columbia for year round event.  This walk gives you great views of Vancouver harbor and downtown, North Shore mountains and English Bay.  Hotel accommodations at the Holiday Inn Express, (604) 254-1000 in Vancouver.  Continental Breakfast included.  

Aug. 4th:    (Sat.) Participate in another great walk in Vancouver.  This walk goes through downtown,                Gastown, Chinatown and Yaletown. Continue across the border into the USA to Seattle, Washington.  Hotel accommodations for 2 nights at Red Lion HotelSEA-TAC Airport, (206) 246-5535 Full Breakfast included and free shuttle to airport.

Aug. 5th:    (Sun.) Participate in Seattle Downtown walk (Spend all day in this great city!) This walk goes through the Seattle Center grounds then continues along the waterfront passing by the entrance to the Olympic Sculpture Park, then through downtown Seattle, passing 3 firehouses and a Veterans Memorial. Some highlights are Pike Place Market, Westlake Mall, Pioneer Square, Waterfall Park, Klonkike Gold Rush National Historical Park and Museum, pea patch garden and the International District, as well as 2 K optional-QWEST Field. (home of the Seattle Seahawks football team) and Safeco Field (home of the Seattle Mariners baseball team).  Return back to our hotel.

Aug. 6th:    (Mon.) FLY DAY ONLY BACK TO OUR HOME DESTINATIONS!!! Reminiscing about the great memories of the Canadian Rockies and More Trip!
