Vallecitos, New Mexico Home and Acreage

The house is located on 4.18 acres in a small, private valley just south of Vallecitos, 15 minutes northwest of the famous Ojo Caliente mineral springs and resort. Three other residences in the valley nearby but not visible from the house.  This is fun country living in the mountains. Private well with springs running into it underground,  and irrigation ditch for the 3 acre fenced in field (for growing vegetables, or horses/goats etc.).  The garden field is totally environmentally clean, no toxins, no herbicides, no pesticides and no chemicals. The house is approximately 2800 square feet, built at different times from adobe, block and frame.  All walls and roof are built 16" on center. The roof is a metal propanel pitch roof with R 30 insulation.  The north wall has mostly R 38 (2 x 8) insulation, some is R19, ( 2 x 6).  The House was totally rebuilt and remodeled with new electricity and plumbing in 2008/9.  Floors have 2" rigid insulation under them, with the kitchen having R 19 under the wood floor. Most of the insulation is made of denim fiber.  Solar electric panels were installed in 2009 and hooked up to the Kit Carson Electric Coop in Taos, so all electricity has been free since then.

There are 3 bedrooms (master bedroom is upstairs 25' x 25'), plus sleeping loft and a meditation loft. There is a large sunroom on the south side, and also a big greenhouse to grow in.  One bathroom with a composting toilet, plumbed shower and sink and grey water piped out to the garden (also carries the kitchen sink water out to the garden area). (Outhouse outside also.)  A  "root cellar" room to store vegetables or use as a storage room.  Another storage room near the kitchen. 

The kitchen has a wood burning Stanley Waterford cook stove and a propane cook stove.  There are 2 refrigerators - one is all electric, a smaller one is propane/electric. There is also a Franklin wood burning stove in one bedroom, an Earthstove wood burning stove in another bedroom and a Dutchwest wood burning stove in the living room.  There is also a Rennai propane heater in the living room. 

The house can include some furniture including kitchen needs, linens and some gardening supplies. Asking price is $350,000.
