This is in the shopping center at the corner of Bell Road and Avenue of the Arts in Surprise.  Our meeting will take place in their meeting room.

This is a dinner meeting—everyone purchases their own dinner—meeting starts at 6 p.m.

White Tank Mountain Regional Park

Enjoy a desert hike on natural trails in the White Tank Mountain Regional Park. Watch for wildlife and blooming wildflowers and cacti. Most of the route is on the Mule Deer Trail and the 5k and 11k routes include a visit to the Nature Center.  Choice of 5k, 10k, 11k - rated 3C.  Leashed dogs allowed on trail, but not in Nature Center. Water and restrooms at start and checkpoint. Trail not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.

Driving Directions:   20304 W White Tank Mountain Rd, Waddell, AZ 85355.  From I-10 take exit 124 for AZ 303-Loop/Cotton Lane. Go north for approximately 7 miles. Turn Left onto W Olive Avenue for 4.5 miles to entrance to the White Tank Mountain Regional Park ($6/car entrance fee or annual pass). After passing pay station, take first left onto N Black Canyon Drive. Registration will be in parking area by restrooms on the left.

Lake Pleasant Regional Park

Driving Directions:   

From Eastbound AZ Loop 303, go LEFT on Lake Pleasant Parkway, then LEFT onto AZ 74 and RIGHT onto N Castle Hot Springs Rd, then follow directions below*

From Hwy 17, go west on AZ 74, then RIGHT onto N Castle Hot Springs Rd, then follow directions below*

From W Bell Rd/N 99th Ave (Sun City), go north on N 99th Ave, which becomes N Lake Pleasant Rd. LEFT on N Lake Pleasant Parkway (crossing W Happy Valley Rd and AZ Loop 303), LEFT onto AZ 74  and RIGHT onto N Castle Hot Spings Rd. Then follow directions below*

From I-10 East or West, go north on I-17, then left on AZ 74, and RIGHT onto N Castle Hot Springs Rd, then follow directions below*

*Once on N Castle Hot Springs Rd—Pass Scorpion Bay entrance to Lake Pleasant. Watch for “WALK EVENT” sign on right. Event registration will take place here and then we will drive into the park for the guided walk event.

The majority of the route is on the Pipeline Canyon Trail, a natural desert trail. Sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots recommended. This area is known for wild burro sightings and, with luck, there will be a showing of colorful wildflowers.  Choice of 5k, 8k, 11k - rated 3C. Dogs on leash allowed—follow cleanup rules. Restrooms at start and finish and at the turn around for the longer route.
